The morning after Mr. JLB matekoni's proposal he calls Mma Ramostwe to make sure he hadn't dreamed up this fantasy and that she had actually agreed to marry him. Have you ever had something so amazing happen to you that you had to " pinch yourself" to make sure that you were in reality?

When I was in the third grade more than anything i wanted a turtle that could be my best friend. Every day my best friend Rinny and I would run down to avondale lake with little butterfly nets in tote and spend the afternoon attempting to catch little baby turtles. Our neighbor India had a blow up pool with thirty baby turtles she had caught from the lake and we were almost sure none were left. Every day back to the lake leaning so close to the edge if any sort of breeze -or perhaps even the sneeze of a large person- had occured the two of us would have surely toppled in.
Finally one day we caught one tiny, speckled green baby turtle and I was so sure it was a dream, I sat staring at him all night long. We ended up having to donate him to India's collection(which was soon to be murdered by a mob of hungry cats which the old woman in the brick house was to feeble to feed) because Rinnys mom believed the turtle stunk. It was tragic.
